Protein(Brewed Protein™)KODENSHI® Down (60% Brewed Protein™ Fiber, 25% Wool, 15% Nylon)
Based on the Sierra Parka, one of THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL's iconic products, nanamica has produced and updated the product. The Photodenshi® down used for the filling radiates far-infrared rays (body heat) emitted by the human body and returns them to the body, maintaining natural warmth. Born in the 1970s as THE NORTH FACE brand's first outerwear, the brand's signature product, which has come to be known as the prototype for outdoor down parkas, is the innovative structural protein material Brewed Protein™ fiber. By adopting this, we will be reborn as a modern product that is more environmentally friendly.

“About Brewed Protein™ fiber”
An artificial protein material developed by Spiber, a bio-venture based in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture. The material, which is produced through a microbial fermentation process using plant-derived sugars as raw materials, is expected to be a next-generation material that can provide an alternative solution to conventional animal-derived and synthetic materials, and is currently being mass-produced in Thailand. The plant has begun producing Brewed Protein™ polymer and is expanding production to include Brewed Protein™ fiber.
Brewed Protein™ materials are fibers, films, and other types of materials that are manufactured through fermentation (brewing) of plant-based ingredients. This new class of material is created using Spiber Inc.'s proprietary technology platform that enables customized design and molecular engineering of nature-inspired protein polymers. These materials can offer alternative solutions to a wide range of conventional animal-based, plant-based and synthetic materials for various purposes, including textiles applications for the apparel industry.
