PORTER GLUE is a series of leather accessories that focuses on the beauty and thinness of the finish, using a technique called "beta-glue" in which two thin pieces of leather are glued together. The items are lightweight and thin, and are intended for use in business, travel, and other situations. The leather is very thin, at 0.5mm to 0.6mm, so it is thick enough to be easily hidden in the inside pocket of a suit jacket. The glue is applied thinly and evenly, and the two pieces of leather are carefully glued together, which requires advanced craftsmanship as the leather is prone to lifting and wrinkling. The glued pieces become a single piece of material, and since both the front and back are silver, they are thin but strong, firm, and flexible. To make the finish even more beautiful, the edges are cut vertically and carefully polished with dye many times to create a natural luster. The outer leather is made from Italian kip (cowhide leather aged 6 months to 2 years). The leather is dyed in a base color, then embossed, and then dyed in a darker color on only the convex surface for a two-tone finish, giving the color depth. The embossed leather is less noticeable even if it gets scratched, and the semi-aniline finish, which uses both dyes and pigments, means that the color does not fade easily. The back leather that is attached to the leather is made of firm combination-tanned cowhide.
