Item Description
The main material is a combination of foil and silk threads for the warp and 2mm-wide kangaroo leather from Australia for the weft, which is tanned to give it strength so that it can be used as a woven fabric. The leather mesh is made by artisans of Nishijin-ori, a traditional industry that originated in Kyoto and is said to have a history of over 1,000 years, and is carefully woven one by one by artisans who have inherited the traditional techniques on kimono weaving machines. The attached leather is kip leather, which has a good balance of texture and robustness, and is said to be ideal for making leather accessories, with a high fiber density, suppleness, and flavor. The surface is made of resin, making it scratch-resistant and has a deep glossy leather.
