Material

Bridle Leather

Attention

Bridle leather is characterized by a phenomenon called bloom, where the wax that has been absorbed into the leather remains as a white residue on the surface. This is especially likely to occur when it is cold, as the wax hardens on the surface. Normally, this will naturally come off with use due to friction, or melt due to frictional heat and soak back in, making it no longer visible, but if it bothers you, wipe it off with a soft cloth or brush. Also, since this product is made using only natural ingredients such as vegetable tannins, be careful not to get it wet. It is prone to absorbing water and may cause stains. Please use care products such as creams that are designed for bridle leather.

Item Description

A bifold wallet from master-piece's bridle series.

The main material is bridle leather from Spire Leather Company in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. Spire Leather Company took over the historic "Clayton Company" founded in 1840 in 2018 and continues to excel in all aspects of leather production. We are committed to using British products, and all raw hides, tanning, finishing, chemicals, and natural waxes and oils for the finish are sourced locally. Bridle leather was originally leather for horse tack, and was made for reins, which are a matter of life and death, and is extremely durable. The manufacturing method that produces this strong leather is traditional and requires a lot of effort and time. Cowhide is tanned using only vegetable tannins, taking a long time (about 2.5 times longer than usual) to avoid loosening the fibers as much as possible. After that, a secret mixture of tallow, beeswax, vegetable oils, etc. is applied by hand, and once it dries, the wax remaining on the surface is rubbed in again. This process is repeated many times to allow the wax to soak into the leather. The leather thus created is robust, but the more it is used, the more it becomes comfortable in the hand and flexible. The surface wax is polished by friction, and an amber luster that cannot be found in other leathers enhances its elegance. The zipper is made by YKK EXCELLA, with each element meticulously polished on all sides. This is a series of accessories for adults that allows you to enjoy the quality of the material, which is unique to the few remaining pure British bridle leathers.
