SMOKY is a representative series from PORTER that celebrates its 20th anniversary with an update. 

The series’ main attraction lies in the original fabric called “Cordura Duck,” which incorporates the exceptional craftsmanship of skilled artisans at every stage of production, from yarn to woven material. 

For the warp threads, Zimbabwean cotton is used, and irregular yarns with varying thickness are spun. 

As for the weft threads, robust and supple Cordura with a denier of 1000 is employed. 

Weaving irregular yarns of different thicknesses is a challenging task, but thanks to the ingenuity and expertise of Japanese artisans developed over many years, they achieve a flat weave. 

The resulting “Cordura Duck” fabric combines the gentleness and natural appearance of cotton with the strength and luster of nylon, creating a unique texture not found in traditional fabrics. 

This blend of low-tech and high-tech elements allows for rich, deep colors achieved by differentially dyeing the warp and weft threads. 

Inside, the original jacquard fabric features the PORTER logo and contributes to a lightweight yet self-standing design. The two-fold wallet, despite its compact size, offers excellent storage capacity. 

The zippered pocket opens wide with gussets, making it easy to organize and access coins, banknotes, and cards. It’s a practical and well-designed wallet.
